I waited all day long, he even called me around lunch time, didn't mention a word. I thought for sure one of my kids would remember, NOT.
So, after work I decided I would just treat myself to something, what else than a new Hummingbird feeder. On my way home I made a stop at Pet Smart. I had seen the Oasis feeder on Youtube and the birds were swarming around it. Okay, I have to have one of these. I came home and immediately hung it up. Wasn't too long after that a bird was perched on it and sipping some nectar. Ahhh...what a sight.
Still no calls from anyone. Okay, I want a new family. Well, that was yesterday. Today I feel different. I know that we can all get too busy in this life. None of them would ever intentionally forget each other.
Got a text from Ryan late last night. Oh yea, Sean called me early this morning. Corey finally called me after the earth quake they had in LA. He told me that he can't even remember birthdays let alone an anniversary. Let's hope that when he gets married he won't forget his.
You see I had finally mentioned it last night while talking to Kathleen. She was so apologetic and quickly alerted her brothers. When Tom called me, around 8pm, to let me know he was on his way home from work, I said, " Oh yea Happy Anniversary". Well let me just say he is trying very hard to redeem himself. I have a few thoughts as to how. Will let you all know when.
By the way, I don't want a new family. I am so blessed and loved by my husband and kid's. The Lord knew just what I needed in life and He made sure I got it.
Oh yea, I went to Jack-in-the-Box for dinner and then drove to Home Depot and got a couple African Violets. Had to have some flowers for my anniversary.

Bummer of an anniversary! I did the "no mention anything" thing before and got nothing and I've found it's just more fun when we tell each other a few days ahead of time so we can actually make plans together. The "does Bob remember?" test.. just isn't any fun for either of us.
So, do the hummingbirds like the new feeder better? Can you tell? What is different about the new feeder?
Yea Dore I think your right. Guess I will have to mark it on my forehead for a few days prior to the date.
I think the difference with the Oasis feeder is it is bigger and there is more feeding areas.
Just so you don't feel like the only couple that doesn't remember to celebrate, Bob and I haven't celebrated our anniversary since we moved to New York because we are always at camp meeting and that means that we are both working. I don't like this work thing. (For me anyway)
Love the African violets. I think I'm going to look for some for my house.
When Tom and I use to go to campmeeting, we always had Terry and Mike Boulton make us lunch, and I think, Bob would make us a berry cobbler. One year we took our ice cream maker. What memories.....sniff sniff.
Oh well.
