It's Here!!!!

Oh what..Oh what could be in this box?????
This big box arrived Thursday and I knew exactly what was inside.

As some of you know, I have wanted a Bernina sewing machine for a few years now. When I started taking a quilting class, you have a choice of a Bernina or Elna. I chose the Bernina. It is made in Switzerland and sews perfect stitches.
I have been trying to purchase one on Ebay for quite some time. Every time I put in a bid I get outbid. Well, last week there were several on Ebay. They would go between $900-$960.00. I really didn't want to pay that much. There was one you could buy instantly for around $1200. I don't think so. Although they are worth every penny, I had set my mind to a certain amount and was sticking to it.
This particular one was ending on the weekend. I put it a low bid just to see what would happen. I kept watching it, no one was bidding. I knew that the closer it got to the end, more people would start bidding. Sure enough, someone put in a little higher bid. I decided to cap off at a certain amount, $725.00. But, I didn't put my bid in until a few seconds before it ended...and whaa-law...I won.
I would say, if there is something you really want on Ebay, bid on the weekend, everybody else is either partying or shopping...hehehehe
The infamous Bernina.

I decided to set it up tonight to test it out....it works great!

This is a pic of the next project I want to make. It is called French Roses. Go to Dore's blog, she has more pics of it. You can get to hers from mine.
Click on the pic, it will enlarge, it is absolutely adorable.

A closer look.

Well, cool for you!!! I've never bought off of ebay. Don't really know how. I know that people wait until the last minute to bid. I'm glad it works. I'm always a little skeptical buying from the nebulous internet. So, when will you have my quilt done?

that quilt is absolutely adorable! I can't believe how cute it is! That looks like something you would see at kids pottery barn.

I admire your patience for quilt making. When I sew, it has to be something I can finish in a couple days.
Where did you learn your many talents? (Or were you born with them?)
P.S. My guest room is in cream and sage green. A quilt would look heavenly in there!....Jesea

Oh Goody! Now we'll have to get together to sew with our Berninas!
..and we need Cecelia too. We all have the same model now. Somehow, I think you and Cecelia will be sewing more with yours than I will. I am sewing challenged. Seam ripping is my forte'.

I am not sure where I got my crafty interests. But, I do enjoy making quilts.
Send me a pic of your room and the size of the bed and I will consider my options. Ya never know what you will get in the mail, or I may even have to hand deliver.
I think I will make Helen one too, that way you both will always have something to remember me by...thats if I go first. :)

Oh...Cathy....That thought is so sweet! I would cherish anything you made and if life gets to busy... still that is the sweetest thought .
Helen said she can't make it down for the "Girlfriends sleep-over". I wanted to get you, Helen, Dorothy and Vivian to come to my house this month. Well maybe next month.
Bob and I plan to go to Monterey in a few weeks. We will be stoping in Stockton to visit my cousin. You live close by, don't you? We could meet for dinner.
