I love the holiday's. Especially this time of year, the family get together's, the fall leaves, the goodies and the time off.
I was trying to decide if I should go for a walk or blog...oh I guess I will blog first.
This year, well, my table is set.
Ryan is my "Jacob" he is helping me in the kitchen while "Esau" is watching football.
Tom's duty is always carving the turkey. I cook both, real and veggie turkey. This year, Shelly and I preferred the veggie one.
We are ready to eat. This years menu consisted of the usual, turkey, mashed potatoes, cream peas (the family favorite), stuffing, fresh baked yams, cranberry sauce, etc.
This is my favorite, a Cranberry jello ring.
Here is my attempt at a Pumpkin Pecan Cheesecake. Not sure yet how it taste, we are still full from dinner.
And yet another favorite, a pumpkin roll. Yes, this is delicious...filled with cream cheese.
Okay, I had better hit the streets, I still have to weigh on Monday.

Cathy, Your menu sounds yummy!
We did a real turkey (I'm the only one who didn't eat any), and our only dessert was pumpkin pie. Our dinner was simple but with all the usual stuff. We invited a neighbor couple over. (Our kids were busy with there other side of the family.) Tomorrow morning I will be going shopping with my daughter-in-law, Cheryl. We head out around 4am to catch the sales. Mostly for me it is a bonding time. It gives us some time to spend together. I love her like my own and really enjoy this time we share.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
I wish we had just had our family. We had too many people here for my liking. Not only our family but 3 other families were here. There were 16 of our family here and 11 other people from other families. Just too many IMO. I cooked all morning. Ate too much and then sat around all day not really doing anything. I feel bloated. But I am thankful that we could be here. I bet you are thankful that we are coming home to take care of the kiddies.
I bet it's so easy to clean up after dinner in your family! We had a big one this year, it actually took all day (lots of dragging out) to clean up after dinner!
